April 28, 2013 I don't know who Dr. Wu is or if he's a real doctor but he sure makes awesome Transformers accessories.
The "Prime Sword" is a concept design for the Star Saber, a sword created by Solus Prime (one of the original 13 Primes). The Prime Sword is made from die-cast medal and is pretty heavy. It's also very pointy so it's not for kids and even adults should be careful when handling it. I think the sword has a very nice design and its shininess makes it a really nice display piece.
The "Skybreaker" is a show accurate version of the Star Saber from the Transformers Prime TV series. Speaking of which, if you're a Transformers fan and not watching Transformers Prime, you should. It's a very good show. Back to the Skybreaker. It also has a very nice design. It's bigger than the Prime Sword but it's made completely of plastic.
There are a few different colour variations of this sword. There's a silver, purple and red version. The silver version is supposed to be its non-power-up mode. The blue version is when it's in its power-up mode. I think the purple version is supposed to be a dark or evil version of it. I'm not sure what the red version is supposed to represent. I got the blue version because that's how it looks on the TV show when Optimus is kicking ass with it.
One thing I don't like about this sword is that it has a fancy hilt that intrudes on Optimus Prime being able to hold the sword with the blade parallel to his arm. It also contains a big knob at the bottom of the sword, which is removable to allow you to put it into his fist.
The Skybreaker also comes with an accessory that allows you to store the sword on a figure's back. The accessory pegs into a hole. I'm not exactly sure which figure it was designed for but it works with Classics Optimus Prime, who can also hold the sword.
I would give the Prime Sword a 10/10 and the Skybreaker a 9.5/10. I dock points for the Skybreaker because it can't be held at the proper angle to cut somebody and its lack of die-cast. |

I'm not going to bother doing a full review on Red Alert since he's just a repaint / minor re-tool of MP-12 Sideswipe. You can read my review of MP Sideswipe here. I've always been a fan of Red Alert's colour scheme, so this is a figure I really wanted to get, even if it's just a repaint. |

Powermaster Optimus Prime was originally reissued in 2002 but it was not one of the Transformers that I was interested in so I didn't pick it up. This is the 2012 Asia Commemorative reissue Powermaster Optimus Prime. The reason I wasn't really interested in it is because it's a big brick. Having said that, I started collecting Optimus Primes and with it being reissued for a decent price, I decided to get it.

I wanted to get the first edition Voyager Optimus Prime but that was released in limited numbers and apparently, scalpers got to them pretty fast so I opted to go with the Robots in Disguise version.

I'm not opening this guy any time soon but just wanted to show him off. This is my fourth version of the G1 Optimus Prime mold so I want to keep him MISB... for now. This version comes with two blasters (normal version and bloated version), an Action Master Optimus Prime figure, Matrix of Leadership, chain, and mouse pad. Differences from this guy with the G1 Optimus Prime is that he has tinted windows and he has blue eyes.
2002 Hasbro reissue, Encore reissue, Music Label reissue
The first version I have is the 2002 Hasbro release. This version comes with shorter smokestacks than the original G1 Optimus Prime. This is apparently for safety reasons. I upgraded him with long smokestacks. I also upgrade him with an energon axe.
The second version I have is the Encore version. The major difference between the Encore version and the 2002 Hasbro version is that the Encore version has his Autobot symbols painted on instead of being stickers. The Encore version also comes with long smokestacks. I upgraded him with an energon axe. He is my MIB backup version incase something happens to the first Prime.
The third version I have is the Music Label version. In this version, his trailer is actually an iPod dock with built-in speakers. There are also major differences in the cab portion. The windows are tinted blue, the red part of the cab is completely painted, his Autobot symbols are painted on and he comes with a completely new head that can rotate and tilt up and down. He didn't come with any stickers but I bought stickers from reprolabels.com. I upgraded him with an energon axe. This is my favourite version of the toy. |

G1 Mirage will probably not get a reissue since the mold is lost/stolen. So, I decided to get this KO. When I got the package, it was poorly packaged. The flap on the box was bent. I was disappointed but it didn't bother me too much because I don't collect boxes. The figure is supposed to be surrounded by a bubble which is supposed to be glued to the back of the box. The bubble was not glued at all. I was OK with this because the figure seemed undamaged but it's worth noting so people will know what they are getting when they buy these KOs.
With the shotty packaging, I was concerned there would be issues with the figure but it turned out that the quality of the figure was very good. The only problem I had was that the should mounted weapon was missing a screw, which I easily replaced. The figure contains die-cast parts, chrome and rubber tires just like the original. The stickers are OK quality. Not terrible but not great.
The box and instructions are almost exact replicas of the original. I couldn't spot the difference. It comes with the tech spec decoder as well.
Overall, I'm really happy with this KO.

March 9, 2013 I wanted to post a photo of all my G1 Autobots (up to the end of the G1 cartoon) because I think it looks cool just seeing them all together. Ironically, the only Autobot car (not including minibots) that I'm missing from the season 1 & 2 is Wheeljack, which is the only Autobot car that I had as a kid. Hound, Red Alert, Infernal and Trailbreaker and all MISB, that's why I'm only displaying their boxes.
